Project Scope: Transforming a narrow paved area into an expansive, elevated outdoor haven
When our team arrived, the outdoor space was functional but uninspired—a narrow paved area that didn’t reflect the homeowners' aspirations for a modern, versatile outdoor living area. Our goal was to redefine the space, balancing beauty, practicality, and innovation. Here’s how we brought this vision to life:
We replaced the narrow paved area with a spacious, elevated decking solution. Using Millboard composite decking in the rich, textured Antique Oak finish, we created a warm and inviting platform that seamlessly blends natural beauty with exceptional durability. The deck, elevated to an impressive height of 1.8m, became the centerpiece of the transformation.
To connect the elevated deck to the garden below, we installed wide, elegant steps with carefully staged areas. These provide not only functional access but also opportunities for additional seating or decorative touches, enhancing the deck's usability and appeal.
Safety and style came together with the installation of a glass and stainless steel balustrade. The sleek design provides an unobstructed view of the garden while adding a contemporary touch to the elevated deck.
To provide shade and shelter, we installed a sophisticated louvered pergola in a chic anthracite grey finish. This feature adds a luxurious feel to the space, allowing the homeowners to enjoy the deck in all weather conditions while controlling sunlight with ease.
To complement the Antique Oak decking, we installed a stylish new composite fence. The harmonious tones and modern design create a cohesive look while ensuring privacy and enhancing the overall aesthetics of the space.
The elevated design provided an opportunity to maximize practicality. We created a discreet storage area beneath the deck, offering ample space for gardening tools, outdoor equipment, or seasonal furniture, keeping the area tidy and organized.
The transformation is nothing short of extraordinary. The expansive Millboard deck offers a warm, inviting space for entertaining or relaxing, while the wide steps and staged areas create an elegant flow between the deck and the garden. The glass and stainless steel balustrade, louvered pergola, and composite fencing add modern sophistication and practical functionality. Finally, the under-deck storage ensures the area remains both beautiful and clutter-free.
This project is a perfect example of how thoughtful design and premium materials can completely reimagine an outdoor space, turning it into a true extension of the home.
